Based on our experiences at Omnit over recent years, we see a market need for interim NetSuite support. Many finance departments that use NetSuite have yet to receive adequate support during the implementation process, often because they focus on other core business processes. 

NetSuite’s finance module is more process-oriented than other ERP systems to which bookkeepers and controllers are accustomed. Consequently, in several larger companies using NetSuite, many bookkeepers and controllers lack the necessary NetSuite experience and need assistance.

Finance department support

Omnit supports finance departments using NetSuite, whether during a NetSuite implementation or when the need for NetSuite expertise arises for other reasons, such as for clients who already have NetSuite. Examples of tasks include:

  • Assistance with bank reconciliation within NetSuite and guidance on correct accounting practices. Additionally, we perform monthly closing balance control. This can be described as classic interim work.

The success criterion is that the finance department is increasingly capable of transitioning to the next business area (business pillar 2).

Finance department optimization

The objective of pillar 2 is to empower the finance department to become more self-sufficient through a “train-the-trainer” approach.

Depending on the skill levels of the team members, the Omnit interim team will gradually challenge the finance team to handle tasks independently. The success metric is a finance department that increasingly manages daily functions independently, focusing on ensuring that the department can operate NetSuite Finance internally.

This business area aims to “unlock the power of the suite” financially. Here, Omnit Finance will bring in both NetSuite finance consultants and technical and functional consultants to optimise the finance department’s processes.

Business Area 2 typically follows Business Area 1 but can also run in parallel.

Example tasks include process-optimised document handling and automated bank transaction processing.
